Kennesaw Roof Replacement After Storm or Hail Damage

We have completed 81 roofs in Kennesaw and 75 of them were paid by the homeowner's insurance. Cobb County has been our busiest county since 2024, and Kennesaw sits under the same storm tracks as Marietta next door.

How do you know Kennesaw keeps getting hit?

Because we are in Cobb constantly. Marietta is the single busiest city we work in at 407 completed roofs, Acworth is another 142, and Kennesaw sits between them.

When a cell comes through this part of Cobb, we tend to see it in the booking diary within a fortnight. The pattern across the three towns is close enough that work in one usually means work in the others.

What does hail actually do to a shingle?

It knocks the granules off at the point of impact and bruises the mat underneath. Press a thumb on a fresh hail hit and it gives slightly, like the soft spot on a piece of fruit. That bruise is the damage. The missing granules are just the visible part.

Granules exist to keep sunlight off the asphalt. Once a patch of mat is exposed it starts breaking down, and it does not stop. That is why a hail claim is legitimate on a roof that is not leaking and looks fine from the kerb.

Which parts of Kennesaw do you work in?

Legacy Park, Kennesaw Mountain, Brookstone, Stilesboro, Due West, Barrett Creek, and out toward Acworth, Marietta and Woodstock.

Most of this housing stock went up between the late 1980s and the early 2000s, which puts a lot of roofs in the window where storm damage and age arrive together.

My roof is fifteen years old. Will they just blame the age?

They will try. It is the standard response and it is beatable with documentation.

Age and hail damage look nothing alike up close. Age shows as even granule loss across a whole slope, curling at the shingle edges and cracking along manufactured lines. Hail shows as round impacts in a scattered pattern, with the mat bruised beneath each one. One is gradual and uniform, the other is sudden and spotty, and photographs at the right resolution show the difference plainly.

What do you handle and what do I handle?

You file the claim and you pay your deductible. We do the inspection, the documentation, the adjuster meeting, the supplement and the roof.

The adjuster meeting is the part worth being deliberate about. The scope written at that appointment is what the carrier pays against, so we attend every one and walk the roof rather than waiting in the driveway.

What is the cost of putting it off?

Each season of exposed mat is time you do not get back, and the damage never reverses. A roof that would have been a clean claim this year can turn into an argument next year, because by then the deterioration genuinely does look like age.

That is the practical reason to inspect after a storm rather than after a leak. The evidence is clearest while it is fresh.
