Does Canton get enough hail to damage a roof?
Yes. Canton is the seat of Cherokee County, and it takes its share of hail and wind like the rest of the north Atlanta suburbs.
Most of that damage is not something you can spot standing in the yard. Of the 406 roofs we have completed here, 368 turned out to be storm damage a carrier paid for. Those are not roofs that wore out.
What does the inspection involve?
We inspect from the air. An FAA-licensed drone operator captures high-resolution images of the whole roof, and we go through them the way a forensic investigator would, looking for the damage patterns a storm leaves that a ladder inspection misses.

Which parts of Canton do you work in?
Across Canton and the surrounding Cherokee County communities: downtown and the older neighbourhoods around it, Bridgemill, River Green, Soleil Laurel Canyon, Harmony on the Lakes, Great Sky, and out toward Woodstock, Holly Springs, Ball Ground and Waleska.

My neighbours got new roofs and I did not. Should I be worried?
Probably worth a look.
Hail falls in swaths. If a cell dropped hail on one side of a subdivision, the houses in that swath took it and the houses outside it did not. The boundary is rarely tidy, and plenty of homeowners assume they were outside it when they were not.
What happens after the inspection?
If a storm caused it, we deal with your insurance company on the claim ourselves, so the process does not depend on you knowing how to talk to an adjuster. We document the damage, meet your adjuster at the property and walk the roof with them, which is the appointment that decides what gets paid. Anything the first estimate misses gets submitted as a supplement.
The build itself is usually one day. Most approved claims run three to six weeks from inspection to first payment, and a supplement can add two to four weeks after that.
Permits go through Cherokee County or the City of Canton depending on the address. We handle that.
Why does waiting make it worse?
Hail does not leak straight away, and that is what catches people out.
A roof hit in May can go through a whole summer without a drip. What is actually happening is that the impact points have stripped the granules off the shingle, the mat underneath is exposed to UV, and it degrades every week. By the time water shows on a ceiling, the damage is no longer just shingle deep: it is in the decking, sometimes the insulation.
